Spectral perturbation bounds for selfadjoint operators I∗
We give general spectral and eigenvalue perturbation bounds for a selfadjoint operator perturbed in the sense of the pseudo-Friedrichs extension. We also give several generalisations of the aforementioned extension. The spectral bounds for finite eigenvalues are obtained by using analyticity and monotonicity properties (rather than variational principles) and they are general enough to include ...
متن کاملPerturbation theory of selfadjoint matrices and sign characteristics under generic structured rank one perturbations∗
For selfadjoint matrices in an indefinite inner product, possible canonical forms are identified that arise when the matrix is subjected to a selfadjoint generic rank one perturbation. Genericity is understood in the sense of algebraic geometry. Special attention is paid to the perturbation behavior of the sign characteristic. Typically, under such a perturbation, for every given eigenvalue, th...
متن کاملRelations at Order p in Chiral Perturbation Theory
We report on a search of relations valid at order p in Chiral Perturbation Theory. We have found relations between ππ, πK scattering, Kl4 decays, masses and decay constants and scalar and vector form factors. In this paper we give the relations and a first numerical check of them. PACS: 12.39.Fe Chiral Lagrangians, 11.30.Rd Chiral symmetries , 14.40.Aq π, K, and η mesons , 12.38.Lg Other nonper...
متن کاملExponentially Fitted Spline Approximation Method for Solving Selfadjoint Singular Perturbation Problems
A numerical method based on cubic spline with exponential fitting factor is given for the selfadjoint singularly perturbed two-point boundary value problems. The scheme derived in this method is second-order accurate. Numerical examples are given to support the predicted theory.
متن کاملPerturbation theory for confined systems
We discuss the application of perturbation theory to a system of particles confined in a spherical box. A simple argument shows that the particles behave almost independently in sufficiently strong confinement. We choose the helium atom with a moving nucleus as a particular example and compare results of first order with those for the nucleus clamped at the center of the box. We provide a suita...
